A couple of years later he learns his mother Betty has died. They weren’t close, and he doesn’t see any reason to return. But a few years after that his father Sean is dying, and this time when Jennifer writes to let him know, he returns home.
Jennifer and Gordon soon realize that they were lied to and are still in love. The years didn’t seem to matter much. But as Sean is moments away from death, he reveals a shocking secret he learned about right before Betty died. Gordon is devastated, and once again disappears. Just when you think there is no way for this couple to ever get together, another secret is revealed.
This was a really good romance. I am very sorry to say that the author, Karen Ranney, passed away in June, so there may be one more book in this series or not. Only time will tell.
