It feels like the summer has just flown by! I always thought I’d never retire, just keep working until I couldn’t, but as man plans, God laughs, and here we are. I am enjoying my retirement way more than I ever expected. I’ve been reading, of course, but not reviewing. So I’m trying something new —

Perhaps the saddest news in August was of Dolly Parton’s passing. Her gifts were extraordinary, and she shared them with the world. This honor is just one of many befitting this amazing woman.

Tennessee Gov. Announces Intent To Rename Nashville Airport After Dolly Parton

The governor said he is partnering with the airport to get the process going. It comes after a petition to rename the airport after the country icon skyrocketed in support following her death.

This chef’s bakery stand was stolen from her yard. Strangers made her a new one.
